Free AAPN Fireside Chat with Randy Harward of Under Armour, July 16

AAPN News 2 min read

Are you ready for another AAPN Fireside Chat? We are, and in July we are delighted to announce that Under Armour Senior VP Randy Harward will be presiding.

The webinar is entitled HEY, EINSTEIN, WE ALL LIVE IN THE SAME UNIVERSE
Description: It seems that everyone is into fast fashion and the idea that we should be able to make decisions close to market. But faster is not always better. The old Lewis Carroll quote from Alice in Wonderland, 'The hurrier I go, the behinder I get', could not be more true in the increasingly competitive world of apparel retailing.

Poking at the idea that everything can and must be done faster, Randy will discuss the idea that the limitations we often feel we have can be turned into core strengths if we honor earlier decisions and leverage them as we go.

For those of you not familiar with Randy he has spent virtually his entire career, which began in 1979 at outdoor brand called Western Mountaineering in San Jose, CA, in garments made of innovative materials.

After 8 years in his first position, Randy joined Patagonia in 1987, spending 26 years there, rising to the title of VP of Advanced Research and Development.

In fact, he did almost everything during his career there - led new textile and hardware innovation, developed new product construction techniques, Field Testing and the Patagonia R & D Center.

In addition he was involved in all aspects of development, product and service operations having also served as Sr. Director of Research and Quality, Quality Director, Director of Environmental R&D, and as Director of Raw Material and New Technology Development.

Leaving Patagonia in 2013, and after a brief period working at WWAdvisors, Randy joined Under Armour as VP leading their Apparel and Footwear Material Innovation Teams.

He was promoted to his current position in 2016 taking charge of Under Armour's Lighthouse Technology Development, Integration, and Makers Space within the Under Armour Innovation organization. Seamlessly supporting both innovation-driven growth and the Under Armour mission to Make All Athletes Better.

Here are three articles on the impressive pandemic response from Under Armour, as led by Randy:

How Under Armour is making 100,000 masks a week to fight COVID-19

The webinar will once again be free and open to all interested in exciting, provocative discourse. It’s scheduled for July 16, 2020 at 11:00 AM EST and you can REGISTER FREE here.
